Self-analysis necessitates the capability to assess oneself and determine the degree of development that one has achieved. It is a practice that enables a person to evaluate their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses while self-diagnosing pertinent solutions. Self-assessment allows a person to make improvements devoid of the necessity for performance appraisal. It entails applying questions such as what my interests are, what my weaknesses are, and what my skills are, to mention a few. Although many organizations do not place a high value on self-assessment, others treasure it and consider it in self-esteem aspects. Self-analysis is equally essential for both learners and professionals, hence allowing each student to practice doing it effectively (Sharma et al., 2016). Apart from being vital in official employee evaluation, it is crucial for personal development. Self-analysis ensures that people are confident about their capabilities since it eradicates work-associated doubts and fear. It assists people to choose programs, tasks, and occupations in which they can excel. For instance, if one finds out that they are antisocial or unfriendly, they can avoid a marketing career and opt for software development. Active learning improves critical thinking by ensuring that a person is directly in a similar position to the one they would be in their future careers. This offers both real-world experience and problem-solving competencies, which promote the development of critical thinking skills (Panadero et al., 2017). Another strategy that could improve critical thinking is being regularly involved in analyzing evidence, testing hypothesis, observing and drawing conclusions, and questioning presumptions from data. Critical thinking is not only a skill but also a routine that could be developed to enhance problem-solving. There is a need to establish one’s best-suited style and strive to hone it to develop leadership skills. One could begin by generating a culture of self-supporting practices and conduct. My personality type is Introvert, Sensing, Thinking, Judging (ISTJ), also referred to as inspector. This signifies that I am sensitive about what is right or wrong, particularly in my fields of interest and accountability. People with this type of personality are associated with commitment to tasks. They are usually punctual and like working with people of comparable character as them. Akin to Introvert Thinkers, individuals with ISTJ personalities often portray the impression of being cold or reserved. ISTJs find it challenging to show expressive warmth. They appear to excel in their tasks when undertaking a step-by-step method (Rickles et al., 2020). Once a given approach has been found successful, a person in this category consistently applies it when addressing similar problems in the future. ISTJs get easily irritated by other people’s mistakes, particularly when they fail to commit to their work.

Nevertheless, they often keep such sentiments to themselves up to the moment they are asked concerning it. They speak out their feelings at such a time since they believe that truth is worth more than tact (Rickles et al., 2020). They make good organizational managers, project implementors, and heads of departments. ISTJs prefer occupations and careers in which individuals of their caliber are since this makes them feel fulfilled (Rickles et al., 2020). They are successful in career fields where they are the most represented. ISTJs like to operate in stable work settings with clear anticipations and minimal surprises where they can establish detailed plans and stick to them with little or no variations. Lessons from Self-analysis

From the above self-assessment, I have learned that I am somewhat reserved but with a determined and rational attitude in life. I compose my actions cautiously and undertake them with a systematic purpose. My defining attributes of integrity, practical logic, and tireless commitment to tasks make me an important person to my family, colleagues, and organizations that support traditions, regulations, and standards. I enjoy taking responsibility for all my actions and strive to excel in my duties. When seeking to accomplish a goal, I do not waste any of my time and energy but undertake each task with accuracy and persistence. Like me, ISTJs do not make presumptions but prefer to assess each detail, confirm facts, and achieve a practical strategy.

Upholding personal integrity is fundamental to ISTJs, and this surpasses their feelings. They stick to established directives and regulations irrespective of cost while even reporting their flaws by being honest, even if they are aware that consequences for their mistakes might be devastating (Rickles et al., 2020). To ISTJs like me, truth is far more considerable than emotional deliberations, even though such blunt perspectives give other people the mistaken impression that we are cold, humorless, or robotic. In most instances, ISTJs struggle to portray emotional affection externally, but the thinking that they do not have feelings, or in worse cases that they are not human and do not have personality whatsoever, is profoundly hurtful.

When one feels that they are pressed for time and must make decisions, they have a high probability of jumping to conclusions devoid of carefully deliberating each alternative. Nevertheless, proper time management helps avoid pressure emanating from inadequate time and makes one calm and in command of the situation (Farrell, 2017). This facilitates a careful assessment of options, and instead of making hasty decisions, one carefully considers the best alternative before its selection. Additionally, time management is vital for enhanced success through the improvement of performance. Therefore, a person accomplishes tasks and attains set objectives in a short time.

One of the techniques for the proper management of work-associated tasks on time is planning. Effective planning should always be the first, best, and most adhered to time management technique. It helps to organize the set tasks properly before undertaking them. Planning also provides a detailed understanding of all the tasks that need to be addressed (Farrell, 2017). After planning, the execution of set duties comes easily and fast. Another suitable time management technique is setting goals. When one has set goals, they will understand the direction that they are supposed to take. This is a significant element of completing tasks early enough because it eliminates possible confusion in the process and makes one remain focussed and avoid time wastage. Therefore, goal setting enables a person to complete work-related tasks faster and successfully.
