A Cat Type of Person: People Sensitive to Animals

A personality is not just a set of various characteristics but traits. These personality traits help to predict and explain the behavior of this person. A personality is a set of features that define and make one unique. However, sometimes can talk about the type of person based on their preferences or belonging to a group. Can be attributed certain personality traits to cat people since it is often possible to track specific trends in their behavior or personality traits that unite people in this group. For example, all cat owners are more erudite, prefer quiet company, and are wayward.

People are sensitive to animals whose personal qualities remind them of their own. It turned out that cat lovers were superior to dog lovers in intelligence. The “cat people” scored higher on the intellectual ability test because of the environment they prefer the most (Roupenian, 2019). Therefore, when talking about cat owners, most often, their behavior is similar to the conduct of cats. For example, cat owners highly value the independence of these animals.

Fans of cats feel comfortable in silence, appreciate being alone, do what they love, and spend time usefully: perhaps reading a book or learning a foreign language. Nevertheless, in the conducted study, it was revealed that cat lovers are more prone to nonconformism and introversion (Roupenian, 2019). Cat lovers prefer a dialogue with an exciting person or communication in a narrow circle of like-minded people to cheerful companies.

Cat owners are less likely to show qualities associated with dominance. They also do not tolerate being poorly led, preferring to focus not on rules and hierarchy but on expediency. Cat owners generally find it challenging to endure existence in the system, so they do not seek societal recognition and high social status (Roupenian, 2019). This is not surprising: every cat owner can note their wayward character.

Thus, it can be concluded that cat lovers are more erudite, introverted, and wayward. Personality traits that are characteristic of certain people will determine their personality type. In this case, people have certain qualities, not because they are cat lovers. They are cat lovers because their personality type resembles the behavior of cats. More often, cats are models of independence and autonomy, and these traits, according to many, are markers of high intelligence and a tendency to succeed.
