A Unique Process of a Child’s Very Early Years

I support the writer’s statement that any child’s very early years are a unique process. Even just one home environment is an incredibly massive world for them, which they semi-consciously seek to know, explore and sometimes even conquer. Watching them is entertaining and confusing because their enthusiasm, interest, and excitement are astonishing. Partly, this feeling is created by the idea that small children reflect our memories of the old happy days, which have long become the foundation for the subconscious. Many reading this know such a situation when parents observing their descendants say the phrase that they are their reflection from the old days.

A child’s beginning period of life is also a time of constant supervision and concern for both parents and social workers. The writer correctly noted that these are the times of great developing physiological development leaps and appearing physical and psychical disorders and changes. It is a period of constant diagnostic measures for parents and social scientists.

A few years back, I happened to observe the behavior of a 3-4-year-old sibling, a boy. He was a very active, constantly running, and loud child, but also very friendly and outgoing. I remember his parents told us that the reason for this behavior was diagnosed with hyperactivity. According to specialists, “hyperactivity means having increased movement, impulsive actions, and a shorter attention span, and being easily distracted” (Hyperactivity, 2022, para. 1). Now he is calmer through exercise and counseling, but his parents were frightened to hear that their son had this symptom.

It is very peculiar to observe the development of children through Piaget’s theoretical framework. I witnessed how my young siblings and relatives showed each other conscious empathy and came to a consensus after emotional disputes without parents’ impetus during their concrete operational stage. However, I also observed how teenagers were unable to grasp the full importance of the concept of planning their future adulthood in their formal operational stage.

I happened to observe the secure attachment between the mother and her infant. It was visible that the child looked happy and tranquil when the mother nursed, fed, or soothed them. I could almost feel the infant’s received warmth, and I think building a similar emotional relationship with children is the right way. Such a solid sensory response could be evoked because I was also fortunate to be raised by caring parents who instilled empathy and helpfulness in me.
