Symptoms of Stress and Its Treatment

Modern people are subject to an environment where they tend to encounter a considerable level of pressure and challenges affecting their mental well-being. As a result, of being impacted by such factors, people often experience stress which in turn is capable of causing many other diseases. Elderly people are particularly vulnerable in the face of stress; therefore, they must undergo treatments to contain the condition.

Many people consider stress a normal part of their life and avoid addressing the problem, yet it may have considerable symptoms negatively affecting individuals’ health. The basic symptoms of stress include headaches and dizziness, which can interfere with people’s ability to concentrate on their tasks. Additionally, stress can be characterized by physical pain in different body parts, including muscles, and the feeling of constant tiredness (Dasgupta, 2018). Finally, people who suffer from stress also become less social and avoid interacting with friends and family. Elderly people are particularly prone to experience severe symptoms of stress due to their age and a decreased ability to effectively manage challenging situations. The primary treatments for stress include relaxation and meditation, which allow people to forget stress-causing concerns.

Moreover, massages are another effective way of addressing the problem of stress. Age also plays a significant role in stress treatment options because younger people can engage in different physical activities, such as exercise, to reduce stress. Elderly people without physical strength can choose cognitive behavioral therapy treatments.

Stress is a major concern for people in the modern age, especially older ones. Stress symptoms are diverse and may range from physical pain, such as headaches, to a continuous feeling of tiredness and social disengagement. In order to treat stress, people can exercise, undergo massages, and engage in relaxation practices.
