Treating Adolescent Children

Among the many adulthood challenges, finding the right ways to treat adolescent children occupies a special place. As mentioned in the textbook, conflicts with them “have the most detrimental impact on marital satisfaction” (Kraynok et al., 2017, p. 550). Failing to be flexible and applying an authoritarian style, adults often deprive teenagers of an opportunity to make their own decisions and aggravate family tensions. A support group named “Because I Love You” was created to connect parents raising troubled youth and provide them with professional recommendations and best practices (Baldonado, 2017). It has become a tool helping thousands of families to overcome the crisis time and restore harmony at their homes.
