In today’s society, the issue of stress and stress-related health problems is especially critical. To regain physical and mental well-being, it is essential to discover some useful tools against stress. However, we cannot fully solve the problem if we do not know the nature behind it. That is why I found the course especially helpful.
To begin with, it was interesting to learn how our brain functions when it is under stress and how it reacts when practical stress-reducing techniques are involved. For example, it is important to know that our mood and general positive sensations in the body are affected by endorphins. If we are aware of what triggers the increase in endorphin levels and what reduces them, we can change our habits and improve our lifestyle.
During classes, I found the information about the ways of reducing stress most beneficial. Practical advice on muscle relaxation techniques, positive thinking, meditation, and changing the attitude to the events we cannot control was crucial for understanding how to reduce stress and anxiety. I would say that the least appealing thing was breaking my old habits and accepting the new information. However, it is essential to experience such difficulties to obtain a new state of mind.
After all, I managed to apply the recommendations to my daily life. At the end of the course, I was able to control my emotions more efficiently and respond to the emerging stressors with patience and humility. Now I can see in which areas I can develop my stress resistance, and for that, the classes on mindful practices such as yoga would be helpful.
To sum up, I enjoyed the course and the transformations I experienced. In my opinion, both the theoretical and practical parts of the process are essential for developing healthy coping mechanisms against stressful factors.
