Adolescent Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

In the modern world, mental problems are becoming more common, which affect not only adults, but also children. Adolescent Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is explained by disturbances in the psychological and emotional stability of a person. In adolescence and childhood, it can affect the constant demand for attention and the impossibility of stable calm behavior. The syndrome requires medical intervention with one example being cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), since it includes disorders of the nervous system and can adversely affect a person’s life.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the effective methods of dealing with the Adolescent Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It coordinates with a person’s thinking, working with his internal attitudes. Adolescents with the disorder may have difficulty concentrating, nervous instability, impulsiveness and difficulties with social interaction. Cognitive behavioral therapy can be group or individual and is aimed to help patients change their lives and behaviors.

CBT is applied to both children and parents to adapt and deal with existing abnormalities. In the course of group, family or individual therapy, the specialist works with the habits and well-established behavioral tendencies of the adolescent. Experts explain how to act to both children and parents, conveying the importance of working through each individual problem (Amel et al., 2018). Thus, it is a multi-approach way to help teenagers deal with this problem.

In conclusion, psychological problems, like any others, require study with a specialist who can suggest a course of action. During adolescence, the human psyche is receptive and dealing with Adolescent Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is possible with the use of CBT. Such therapy is available in various options, which allows to choose the most suitable one.
