Further, through the investigation of the stimulus, the researchers managed to develop the psychological approach called behaviorism, evolving the exploration of mental consciousness (Biophily2, 2016). As far as psychology is devoted to investigating behavior, many scientists believe it could not be considered a natural science. However, many outstanding researchers proved the possibility of exploring humans and designed different psychological approaches to discover the depth of personality and social psychology.
Through the later investigation, the researchers established the features of normal and psychopathic personalities. Using different testing material such as the Rorschach test, the psychologists found the basis for classifying the mentalities and types of consciousness (Biophily2, 2016). The gained by psychologists’ results were used in military aims to recruit soldiers with stable mental health. Wars have significantly changed human psychology and the world perception. The constant threat caused by the wars resulted in the development of severe mental problems (Biophily2, 2016). As a result, the psychologists had a profound basis to work on. The development of the psychological therapy moved the psychology forward.
As a result of the changes in the world, people start to see salvation in humanistic psychology. The popularity of psychology led to its popularization and the “pop psychology” (Biophily2, 2016). The development of psychological and cognitive therapies invoked the further exploring the human brain. Thus, the final topic discussed in the video is neuroscience (Biophily2, 2016). The combination of psychology and neuroscience opened new scientific opportunities in understanding human consciousness and behavioral patterns.
