Social competency refers to people’s ability to fulfil social responsibilities successfully. Teachers should be in charge of instructing social skills in their classrooms to assist children in becoming active academics and establish the groundwork for adulthood success.
Precise directives, coaching, practice, assessment and reinforcement, and generalization of desired social actions are examples of social skills treatments. Teachers give clear instructions by explaining the importance of a certain social skill and methods for doing it (Matson, 2017). In conclusion, tutoring social skills in classrooms helps lessen inappropriate behavior among ethnically and linguistically versatile students.
